چکیده

Abstract Tristan10M is a 10-million-pixel large area detector based on the Timepix3 ASIC. The ASIC can work in event driven mode addition to standard frame mode. Thanks these capabilities of ASIC, Tristan ideal for time-resolved experiments. 10M organized 2 × 5 module matrix, each being made up sixteen chips bump-bonded monolithic pixelated silicon sensor. In this contribution, we will report status development, and characterization results terms threshold equalization, energy calibration, flat-field correction. A number initial commissioning experiments have been carried out small molecule single crystal diffraction beamline I19 at Diamond light source, which also here. particular, X-ray powder from sample, LaB 6 , was performed evaluate inter-module alignment per-module basis.

Simulation of a Neutron Detector for Real Time Imaging Applications

Monte Carlo Method is used to simulate a double layer gadolinium-amorphous silicon thermal neutron detector. The detector fabricated in pixel array configuration has various applications including neutron imaging. According to the simulation results, a detector consisting of a gadolinium (Gd) film with thickness of 2-4 ~m, sandwiched properly with two layers of sufficiently thick (-30 ?µm) hydr...

A FUZZY DIFFERENCE BASED EDGE DETECTOR

In this paper, a new algorithm for edge detection based on fuzzyconcept is suggested. The proposed approach defines dynamic membershipfunctions for different groups of pixels in a 3 by 3 neighborhood of the centralpixel. Then, fuzzy distance and -cut theory are applied to detect the edgemap by following a simple heuristic thresholding rule to produce a thin edgeimage. A large number of experime...

A large area, silicon photomultiplier-based PET detector module.

The introduction of silicon photomultipliers (SiPM) has facilitated construction of compact, efficient and magnetic field-hardened positron emission tomography (PET) scanners. To take full advantage of these devices, methods for using them to produce large field-of-view PET scanners are needed. In this investigation, we explored techniques to combine two SiPM arrays to form the building block f...

A large-area CMOS imager as an X-ray detector for synchrotron radiation experiments.

The performance of a CMOS flatpanel imager from Hamamatsu Photonics (C7942) has been tested in various synchrotron radiation experiments. This detector has a detection area of about 120 mm x 120 mm with 0.05 mm pixels, and a frame rate of 2 s(-1). The commercially available product was insensitive to X-rays with an energy lower than 15 keV, but slight modifications solved this problem. Images o...

Picosecond time-resolved laser pump/X-ray probe experiments using a gated single-photon-counting area detector.

The recent developments in X-ray detectors have opened new possibilities in the area of time-resolved pump/probe X-ray experiments; this article presents the novel use of a PILATUS detector to achieve X-ray pulse duration limited time-resolution at the Advanced Photon Source (APS), USA. The capability of the gated PILATUS detector to selectively detect the signal from a given X-ray pulse in 24 ...
